Soaking it all in!

August 7, 2010

I finally sat down last night and went through some photos I took of Liam in the last month of my maternity leave. These were taken on one particular day when I was really soaking in all his “babyness”, realizing that it only lasts such a short amount of time. We spent the day at my parents’ house, laying around in the grass in the backyard, going on walks and just spending a lazy day hanging out. As I picked out his third outfit for the day, my mom said to him, “Your mommy is still a little girl. She thinks you’re her dress-up doll!” I replied, “I’m just trying to enjoy all the best parts of having a baby!”

Baby Room

April 24, 2010

The baby room is just about complete! We haven’t really put up any art, but we have all of the essentials in place. Now all we need is the baby, who is being very stubborn and refusing to be born for now!

…and we’re back!

So I’m going to try and liven up this blog once more. I’ll start with some portraits I took of my friend, Jaye, a while back.

Winchester Mystery House

April 6, 2009

Today Mike and I went to the Winchester Mystery House. I haven’t been there since I was about 14. Here are a few of  my favorite shots from the day. I took plenty of photos of the house, but I feel like I’ve seen so many of those. I liked some of the little displays they had in the museum. Apparently Winchester made rollerskates, fans and other such items other than shotguns.

The second image is of a window that casts refracted light all over the tower it’s in.

Photo-a-day #6

February 21, 2009

I got Mike one of those NASA ant habitats for his birthday. He just received his tube of ants. Did you know you can mail-order ants? They’ve been at it, digging and carrying pieces of blue gel all over the place.

ok, so I may have skipped a couple of days… here is one of Mike’s birthday. Cupcakes from Sibby’s Cupcakery. They were amazing.

Photo-a-day #4

February 12, 2009

Spent lunch at my parents’ house. My dad was on a conference call so I amused myself by taking photos of lemons outside. Apparently it’s lemon season, the tree was practically attacking me with its lemons.

Hopefully this won’t degrade to me posting photos of my cat every day out of lack of other material, but she’s just so fluffy, I can’t help it!

Photo-a-day #2

February 8, 2009

Today we went to Phil’s birthday party, which was a good opportunity to get a photo for my photo-a-day challenge! We had a great time hanging out with friends, eating great food and playing darts (well, just spectating for me, if I played someone would have ended up with a dart in their eye).

Photo-a-day #1

February 7, 2009

I’ve decided to challenge myself to take a photo every single day. Doesn’t matter if it’s portfolio material, as long as I do it every single day. Just something to get myself back into it, as I feel like I’ve been slacking on the personal photography front.

Here is one from last night’s walk around San Mateo
